This
hopper, that is applicable to our pumps, IS AN
IMPORTANT INNOVATION, that
reduces, by 95% approx.,
the production of scum and tannins.
In fact the
production
of scum and
tannins is practically eliminated.
By this application, OUR RETRACTED PISTON PUMPS CAN REPLACE THE MONO PUMPS WITH HOPPER, WHICH PRODUCE 15-20% OF SCUM AND LARGE AMOUNTS OF TANNINS BECAUSE OF THE STRONG CRUSHING OF MOVED SKINS AND SEEDS.
Following several tests, this application
improves performances, even compared to PERISTALTIC pumps.
In fact,
following our tests with the
PERISTALTIC PUMPS, 5 -10% of the skins, pulp and seeds are
crushed by the
rotor, which compresses the rubber hose, causing scum and also causing
the
subsequent release of tannins.
For such
applications, a peristaltic pump is much better than a single-screw
pump (or
Mono pump), which produces 15-20% of scum and a huge amount of tannins,
but,
contrary to what some (often) say, IT IS LESS DELICATE THAN
A RETRACTED PISTON PUMP.
So our
technical advice for the transfer of DE-STEMMED and CRUSHED GRAPES, or
even
SHELLED GRAPE, is for the application of a RETRACTED piston pump.
After various tests our customers say that the
RESULT is EXCELLENT.
